India's Nuclear Test Blunder

Nuclear tests were meant to earn the respect of China and the US"- Indian leaders of all shades of opinion reveal "SECRET" to Thomas Friedman of New York Times.

Washington, D.C., Wednesday, July 01, 1998 - Two weeks ago in an interview with the Washington Post. carried by the UNI (United News of India agency) among others, the Indian Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, known for his composition, used a typical Brahmincal trick, and threatened the United States with retaliation if Washington imposed sanctions rigourously. The "high flying" 71 years old Indian Prime Minister of course did not spell out the when, where and how or whether the retaliation would be of a nuclear dimension, since India has now become a Nuclear weapon's state?

However, a day before the US administration announced its sanctions on Jun 19, under the Glen nuclear nonproliferation Law, Nuclear India's Prime Minister Vajpayee came down to earth, and his ardor for retaliation disappeared, and humility made a quick appearance. It was announced in the Indian media (Hindustan Times- June 19, 1998) that; "Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's interview with the Washington Post conveys a false impression of needless belligerence." and that; "there is no way India can retaliate against the US for imposing the sanctions." The story talked about a nuclear weapons-free world and the "basic morality of sanctions". Some Nuclear power! Some Prime Minister! Some retaliation!

Interestingly also on June 19th, Indians of every shade and color joined their fundamentalist Prime Minister in an unanimous exhibition of "humility" which included "doves" like saffron-robed human rights campaigner, Swami Agnivesh, to "hawks" like former Foreign Secretary J.N. Dixit and "in betweens" like I.K. Gujral, Fernandes, Subrahmanyam and Rajmohans. Each "wise one" made it a point to impress upon the well known New York Times columinst, Thomas L. Friedman, who was visiting India on the same day, that "these (nuclear) tests was the ONLY way for India to get what it wants most from the US and China:R-E-S-P-E-C-T."

Mr. Friedman, usually a very shrewd observor, was obviously nonplussed one might say, during his first encounter with a troop of crafty Indian Brahmin's seeking respect from the world with five nuclear blasts at a deliberately selected site, 60 miles from a neighbouring country's border, and situated in the "backyard" of the Sikh homeland of East Punjab, Khalistan.

The New York Times columnist perhaps forgot the old maxim that; "hypocrisy is a homage which vice (or a Brahmin) pays to virtue." Mr. Friedman concluded his column, on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times of of June 20, 1998, in which he covered his India's vist, with the following -not very wise- concluding remark: "Whether any of this makes sense, frankly, I don't know. But I do know this: These views are widely shared here. And any US policy that ignores them, and just orders India to turn the clock back and put its nuclear genie back in the bottle, is not going to work."

It is obvious Mr. Friedman, one of America's great columnists, is for some reason not aware of the "Open Secret" in India, that the triarchy, of 70 year old megalomaniacal Brahmins, that dominates the BJP government in Delhi, blundered into ordering the May 11 nuclear test. The Swastika-worshipping Brahmin rulers were seeking a greater India -AKAHND BHARAT- as the morally repugnant Hindu fundamentalist triumvirate was convinced, (by the likes of idiot savants a la Jaswant Singh) that Pakistan's nuclear program was a bluff. One shudders even to think of the South Asian scenario if Pakistan had been caught bluffing!

With all respects to Mr. Friedman, Senator Jesse Helms is right, the South Asian nuclear genie -respect or no respect- should, and MUST, be put back in the bottle as nuclearization is a "luxury" which dirt-poor, and over -populated, India (and Pakistan) cannot afford. LATRINES AND NOT NUCLEAR BOMBS, MUST HAVE TOP PRIOROTY IN THE WORLD'S LARGEST DEMOCRACY, NAY "KLEPTOCRACY", as 650 million (yes 650 million) UNWASHED INDIANS ARE DENIED THIS BASIC DAILY NECESSITY. LACK OF THIS FACILITY, ALL OVER INDIA, TAKES AWAY THE R-E-S-P-E-C-T, EVERY MORNING, OF THE MAJORITY OF INDIA'S POPULATION WHICH CAN BE SEEN SCURRYING AROUND SEEKING SOLITUDE OF THE WOODS!

Another 46O millions Indians (yes 460 million) are illiterate and also enjoy no RESPECT. Another 90 million blind Indians get no respect either as a majority of blind folk have to become beggars to survive in India. Another 10 million Indians being lepers are denied respect too. India's 200 million child-slaves can be seen wasting their young lives toiling on their back-breaking chores in rural, as well as urban India . Also there is a dwindling supply of clean drinking water which is sooner becoming a luxury. Therefore, India cannot and must not, be allowed to earn the world's RESPECT with nuclear blasts. The world -including the United States and China - will R-E-S-P-E-C-T India, and its rulers, if and when its basic needs are met by the rulers for its people!
