Persecution Of Christains In India

Indian Minister Jethmalani wants religious freedom curtailed in India, ridicules Nehru.  Thousands of Sikh Gurudwaras all over India offer sanctuary to oppressed Christains.

Washington, D.C., Monday, March 08, 1999 - That "great friend" of some Sikhs, India’s Urban Affairs minister, ‘Pundit’ Ram Jethmalani kicked off a debate in India, last Sunday, about religious freedom when he pompously condemned the right which allow the lowly Dalits/tribals etc., (Caste-ridden India’s untouchable caste) to convert, and while doing so, the man had the temerity to condemn the decision of the founding father, Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru " of supporting the religious minorities demand for the right to convert." Some liberal! Some friend of the Sikh minority!

According to the Indian Express newspaper (front page story in the issue of March 1, 99) Jethmalani while speaking at the 75th anniversary function organized by the Symbiosis Society’s Dr. Ambedkar Institute for Research in Law and Development in Pune, India, said that; "I wish Nehru had had the statesmanship to turn down this demand knowing its serious repercussions." He further went on to pontificate that; "The right to propagate involves the right to convert, which in turn means that the other party (read any Christian missionary) says that its religion is superior than mine." According to the prestigious Indian Express, Jethmalani, the Hindu "liberal", showed his strong disapproval of the universal human right, the right to propagate and convert, enshrined in the Indian constitution, as; "nothing but as useless addition to the statutes."

The Indian Express front page story concluded by reporting that Jethmalani was critical of religious groups (Christian) who are agitating for their right to convert when he called the protests: "as totally baseless and stupid acts which are unnecessarily disturbing peace of the country." Jethmalani a true fascist!

It is interesting that Jethmalani’s outburst follows on the heals of the Washington Times interview (Issue of February 16, 99) given by Mr. Naresh Chandra India’s roly poly Ambassador to the United States – a true hypocrite this column christened him. That Indian ‘diplomat’ wants "ALL FOREIGN MEDDLING IN THE OUTBREAK OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHRISTIANS IN INDIA STOPPED". See Khalistan Calling in CHARHDI KALA weekly of February 18-24,1999. It is obvious that some arrogant members of India’s morally repugnant Brahmin caste dominated BJP government, for whom the NAZI swastika is a religious icon, are strutting around under the belief that they have diverted the world’s attention from the persecution of the Christians in India. They have tried to bury the issue of murder of the Christian under the images of "Bus diplomacy" an exercise unfortunately facilitated by an economically beleaguered Pakistan.

The silver lining however, is that the Sikh organizations, individuals and GURDWARAS (Sikh Churches) – representing the 3 million strong Sikh Diaspora – in the Americas, Europe, Asia, East Africa and Australia are making contact with Christian Evangelist groups, (like Assemblies of God, Jehovah Witnesses, Gospel for Asia, Harvest Mission Church, Born Again, Friend’s Missionary Prayer Band, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mormons, Evangelical Free Church, Pentecostal Church etc.,) and Christian and Muslim charity organizations (like Oxfam, Caritas, Agha Khan Foundation, Lutheran World Service, Christian Children’s Fund, World Vision etc.,) to plan a strategy to protect the Christians in India from the Khaki knicker-clad thugs of the ruling BJP who have been raping, burning and murdering Indian Christian and vandalizing churches and graveyards all over India.

These Neo-Nazis Brahmins, these ‘wise’ guys, who are puppeteering the rampaging anti/Christian thugs from Delhi, India’s Capital City, have underestimated as usual a third party – the 21 strong million egalitarian Sikhs. This community has opened its places of worship all over India, called GURDWARAS in the vernacular – and there are thousands of Gurdwaras all over India – where any (yes any) oppressed, hungry or homeless person – Christian or other – can demand (yes demand) not only boarding and lodging but protection as well. Our Christian brothers and sisters, in India and abroad, should note that the Sikhs, a generous and prosperous South Asian people, recognized from afar by their colorful turbans, have the tradition, the muscle, the resources and the attitude to perform all three duties as these have been ordained by their egalitarian Sikh religion. Practice has made the Sikhs perfect in these duties – five centuries of south Asian history is a witness.
