OUR SINCERE FELICITATIONS ON THE OPENING OF THE WASHINGTON DC OFFICE OF THE CHRISTIAN REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM (NAGALAND) --- THE 'OTHER' SOUTH ASIAN BUFFER STATE

Welcome. Welcome. Welcome.

The struggle of the Christian Nagalim Republic to kick out the Indian Occupation Army from the Naga Homeland has the FULL support of the 3 million strong Sikh diaspora

Washington, D.C., Wednesday, August 20, 2003 - We Sikhs (3 million FREE in the diaspora and 21 million CAPTIVE in Indian Occupied Punjab) gladly and cordially greet the gratifying news that our fellow South Asian braves, the Christian Nagas have opened an office in Washington DC, the geopolitical center of the world, to lobby for the early departure of the brutal Indian Army of Occupation from their independent homeland of Christian NAGALIM situated, North East & North of Bangladesh, South of China and West of Myanmar just above the line of the Tropic of Cancer.

We Sikhs have sympathy, nay empathy, for the cause of the Naga people , and have a 500 years old 'connection' with Kohima, in the Naga homeland, as it was visited by the founder of the Sikh religion, Baba Guru Nanak Sahib, in 1503 A.D., (please read Khalistan Calling dated February 05, 2003, headlined, "Celebrating 500th anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib's visit to Kohima in Nagaland in the year 1503 A.D.," by clicking at: www.khalistan-affairs.org/khalistancalling/2003/february05.aspx) Over the years we Sikhs have aired our unflinching support for the Naga struggle on our website and elsewhere. Please read the Khalistan Callling columns, (dated January 29, 2003 & July 05, 2001) in which we have broadcast the unconditional and sincere support of the three million strong FREE Sikh diaspora for the Naga struggle for their independent buffer state of Nagalim, by clicking on the following links at: www.khalistan-affairs.org/khalistancalling/2003/january29.aspx and www.khalistan-affairs.org/khalistancalling/2001/july05.aspx.

Nagalim, parts of which are currently under brutal Indian Army occupation, is a Christian-majority land-locked buffer state between India, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma) and China. It is a buffer state like the land-locked buffer states of Austria, Belarus, Czeck Republic, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, San Marino, Slovakia, Switzerland, Vatican City in EUROPE; Bolivia, Paraguay in SOUTH AMERICA; Botswana, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Lesotho, Mali, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe in AFRICA; and Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Kazakistan, Krygystan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Sikkim,Tajikistan, Turkmennstan, Uzbekistan and Khalistan in ASIA.

The above mentioned opening of a lobbying office of the Christian Republic of Nagalim, in Washington DC, an innocent event, has ruffled the feathers of the guilty Hindutva-fundamentalist, BJP-Vajpayee Neo-Nazi jingoist regime just because a Jewish American US Senator, the respected Mrs. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif), attended and spoke warmly at the inaugeration ceremony of the Nagalim office in Washington DC. She also delivered an impressive and sincere speech at a meeting of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee (on July 24, 2003) in which she sought, "the Committee's intervention in resolving the 55-year-old 'bush-war' over the Nagas' demand for an independent Naga homeland." While we salute the Jewish-American lady Senator Boxer, for her empathy like us, for the just struggle of the valiant Nagas, the ruffled Indian government has started circulating typical dezinformatsiya, in the Indian media, suggesting that a Washington DC office of the Nagas will upset the on-going Nagalim-India peace talks in Delhi". Please see August 18, 2003, Kohima-datelined front page story in the Calcutta newspaper TELEGRAPH, by NISHIT DHOLABHAI, by clicking at: www.telegraphindia.com/archives/archive.html

During her Senate speech Senator Boxer appealed to the Senate Foreign Relation's Committee to 'get involved' and said that, "The Nagas, with great respect, are asking our Committee to get involved because they believe we (US) are more experienced in political negotiations than India or their country," Senator Barbara Boxer's in her speech titled 'Call to learn more about the Naga-India struggle and welcome their new office in Washington DC., said that, "the Nagas admire America's founding fathers and are in alignment with our democratic principles." Senator Boxer while suggesting the creation of a special task force to go on a fact-finding mission to Nagaland, mentioned that, "European Union parliamentarians have already sent two top officials to learn more about the Naga-Indian conflict and we should send a delegation likewise."

The US Senator also suggested that at a later stage, the Committee could think of 'taking the suggestion of the Nagas' to act as a, "mediator/neutral referee to observe, ensure and hold accountable violators of the current peace negotiation for both sides." Senator Boxer in her speech is reported to have mentioned in passing that, "I believe the potential military importance of Nagaland to the US is akin to that of South Korea's 38th parallel".

Nagalim (Nagaland) a Christian country, with one of the highest literacy rate in South Asia (and with a national motto of 'Nagaland for Christ') has the support of many an American Baptist Church organization in these United States. The Amsterdam-based Naga International Support Centre is another source of help and information (www.nscnonline.org/webpage/home.htm) which has provided yeoman service to the Naglim cause by helping the Naga lobbyists and officials to gain access to parliamentarians in the European Union. Nagalim has long been a member of "The United Nations Unrepresented Peoples’ Organisation", (UNPO: www.unpo.ee/en/general.shtml) which is an international organisation created by nations and peoples around the world, who are not represented as such in the world's principal international organisations, such as the United Nations. Founded in 1991, UNPO today consists of over 50 members who represent over 100 million persons.

The Nagas (over three million strong, a quarter million having been murdered by the marauding Indian Occupation Army in the past half century) are a Mongloid people consisting of more than 40 communities, indigenous to a territory which lies between the Latitudes 23.5º North and 28.3º North and Longitudes 93º East and 97º E, North. Nagalim is located North East of Bangladesh just above the Tropic of Cancer. The Nagas have traditionally lived in village-states, independent and self-contained, with a democratically constituted village council headed by a Chief. There is no distinction between individuals and one could earn status and honor by throwing 'the feast of merit', out of the prosperity attained from the toil and sweat of his labor. This custom ensures that there is no glaring inequality in society. An early 20th century British writer describing the Nagas praised their, "courage and cheerfulness, their magnificent physique, truthfulness and independence, their absence of servility and lack of caste."

The Nagas have been free and independent from times immemorial. No alien power has EVER dominated the ancestral lands of the Nagas at any period of time in history. The Colonial British were the first foreigners to cut their way into the territory of Nagas in 1832 and for nearly fifty years thereafter, Nagas put up stiff resistance against the aggressors. Only a small area of Nagalim (the so-called Naga Hills District) entered into an understanding with the British and signed a peace accord in 1881, reflecting clearly that a greater portion of Nagalim remained unconquered and independent.

The declaration of independence by Nagalim on 14 August 1947, one day ahead of India's, (conveyed to the United Nations, India and Pakistan and diplomats in Delhi, Karachi and Dacca) was necessitated primarily for the Naga people under first British and then Indian occupation. The rest of Nagalim required no such declaration, because they were independent since the beginning of time. In 1956, the two areas (about 47,000 Sq. Miles) conglomerated resulting in the formation of the first Republic in the form of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) on 22 march, 1956, following the Indian army's brutal invasion of Nagalim in 1954. The Indian Army invasion had been preceeded by a reign of terror by the police despite a ten year 9-point Standstill agreement, signed in June 1947, between the Assam Governor, Sir Akbar Hyderi of the interim Indian government headed by Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru, just before the hasty August 1947 British departure from South Asia.

The Sikh support for the cause of an independent Christian buffer state of Nagalim has not, and will not, diminish as the Sikhs too WILL have an independent democratic buffer state of Khalistan, which will be located East of the Pakistan border, West of the Jumna river, South of Kashmir and South West of China which will act as a bridge of commerce and prosperity between Central and South Asia.
