A tale from the Indian demoNcracy
Indian Prime Minister-in-waiting Rahul Gandy makes an ass of himself at the annual session of All India Congress Committee in New Delhi
‘Cheers before speech, not after’

Washington, D.C., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 -Military-ruled Pakistan is not the only South Asian country with a problematic democracy where General Pervez Musharraf delivers democracy to his country with a spell of draconian 'martial law’ to safeguard the country’s democratic constitution! India is the other South Asian country where its Italian 'king-maker’, the unread Senora Sonia Maino Gandy, pontificates about democracy to a billion starving Indians (with help from a weak-kneed 'appointed’ Sikh Prime minister who loves to perform kowtow in her court) by wishing to perpetuate a dynastic rule through her dim-witted bachelor son, Rahul Gandy, a swishy 37 years old sluggard who also happens to be a high school dropout.
People in India had a glimpse at the future of the dynastic Indian demoNcracy, which masquerades as the world’s largest democracy, last Saturday in New Delhi, when India’s 'king-maker’ Senora Sonia Manoo 'Gandy’, (the unread Italian widow of the mass murderer of India’s Sikh minority, the late Prime minister Rajiv 'Gandy’) tried to con the Indian people by showcasing her 37 years old dim-witted, bachelor son, Rahul 'Gandy’ (a swishy high school drop out) as the future face of the Congress party and a future Prime minister of India.
The brazen attempt fell flat when Rahul 'Gandy’ disappointed (nay disgusted) three thousand Congress party delegates, attending the All India Congress Committee annual session, held on Saturday 17 November, 2007, at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, with an incoherent three minute speech. A speech Rahul delivered just after Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s fancy introduction speech in which he claimed that, 'the young Member of Parliament (Rahul) can win the minds and affection of our youth and take the Congress party and the nation to new frontiers and new heights of glory". Dr. Manmohan Singh some sychophant!
The stated purpose of the Congress party New Delhi meeting was to dedicate it to India’s founding father, 'Mahatma’ Gandhi (NO relative of the Gandys and Nehrus; see report of 'legal notice to Sonia and Rahul to stop using the surname Gandhi’ at: > http://www.thehindu.com/2004/04/09/stories/2004040904261400.htm <) and his ideals on the completion of 100 years of Satyagraha. However, the unofficial reason was to showcase the party heir-apparent and young pretender Rahul 'Gandy’ as a youth icon and the future leader of the Congress party who would in the future inherit the Indian Prime minister’s 'throne’ like his father, Prime minister Rajiv 'Gandy’ and maternal grandmother Prime minister Mrs. Indira Nehru 'Gandy’ (another high school dropout) managed to do some years ago. Satyagraha, for the benefit of the readers who may not be aware, is a philosophy and practice of nonviolent resistance developed by Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (also sometimes known as "Mahatma" Gandhi, born 1869-murdered 30 January 1948) India’s founding father. Gandhi deployed Satyagraha in campaigns against the Colonial British in their Indian colony for Indian independence and also during his earlier struggles (1893-1914) in British-ruled South Africa.
According to one media report the All India Congress Committee annual session held in New Delhi, on 17 November, 2007, an expectant Talkatora Stadium was packed at a nippy 9am (on Saturday) as the Amethi MP (Rahul Gandy) made his debut as a party general secretary and member of the powerful Congress Working Committee. As he settled in the last row, party workers clamored for him to move to the front where Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sat. Rahul did not budge. Almost on cue, party cadres raised a noisy demand for Rahul Gandhi’s speech as soon as the session got underway. This demand reached a crescendo when there was no sign of the Congress scion till late afternoon even though the cadres had been assured that he would address them after lunch. A delegate from Orissa was drowned with “Rahul lao" (bring Rahul) chants and it was only when Congress president Sonia 'Gandhi’ intervened that she was allowed to complete her speech.
General secretary Janardhan Dwivedi, anchoring the All India Congress Committee annual session, promised that the young MP would speak in the afternoon. The 3,000-strong audience’s impatience grew from that point and the state delegates were given a rough time. When Rahul finally took the mike, for three minutes or so everybody, including Manmohan Singh, kept clapping. Dr. Manmohan Singh had just said that the young MP “can win the minds and affection of our youth and take the Congress party and the nation to new frontiers and new heights of glory".
Rahul Gandy kept his short three minute speech short, beginning in Hindi and switching to English midway 'for the benefit of those from the South’. Rahul Gandy’s aides spread the word that he had written the speech himself. “In our country" he said “you have those who are direct stake-holders in nation-building. On the other side, there are people who are not part of this progress…. What, after all, is poverty? A poor person is one who is denied the opportunity to become rich. The true realization of India’s power lies in igniting the fire of ambition of our aspiring millions…. For this flame to spread, India needs to be connected within itself and to the rest of the world." But to many listeners — who had expected a specific political direction and some fireworks on issues like price rise and unemployment — it all sounded too banal, too stupid. At the end of the speech, the applause was missing. But for all their protests and anticipation, Sonia’s intervention was all too brief and was over even before it had begun. Before Rahul Gandy took the floor, the cadres greeted him with thunderous claps but by the time he finished, the applause was decidedly feeble and the slogan-shouting non-existent. “An abstract speech short on issues and vision,’ wrote the Calcutta-based English language newspaper, Telegraph, in an article which was appropriately headlined, 'Cheers before speech, not after,’ on November 18, 2007. In a strange coincidence as if synchronized with the above November 17 fiasco in Delhi, where Rahul Gandy made an ass of himself in front of 3, 000 Congress party delegates, a senior UP (Utter Pradesh) STF official told PTI news agency, on November 17, 2007, that three militants (with Muslim sounding names) who had been apprehended in Lucknow earlier, had been trained in Pakistan in the art of kidnapping or taking hostage a VVIP politician. 'They had Rahul Gandhi as their target,’ he said. The militants were shown on TV channels in a purported confession claiming they were planning to execute the crime by throwing grenades and spraying bullets. The 'confessions’ were broadcast after everybody had heard that the young pretender, Rahul Gandy, had made an ass of himself in Delhi earlier in a speech to Congress party delegates. According to the November 18 Tribune, the startling revelation resulted in a high pro-Rahul sympathy drama in a UP sessions court when the three militants were assaulted by a group of lawyers while they were being taken by the police to be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate. They were later sent to judicial custody till November 30." See Lucknow-datelined Tribune report headlined, “Held ultras had Rahul in mind," by clicking at: > http://www.tribuneindia.com/2007/20071118/nation.htm#3 <) One day later (on 18 November, 2007) in another Lucknow datelined report the Tribune carried another story headlined, “Rahul’s name not in FIR as target." It is obvious that these confessions by 'three armed Pakistanis’ is state sponsored dezinformatsiya meant to muster a sympathy wave for the benefit of the dim-witted young pretender the 37 years old Rahul Gandy. Although it is a known fact that Dr. Manmohan Singh owes his prime ministership to a politically shrewd move by Sonia Gandy, the unread Italian widow of a dead prime minister, but should a man of Manmohan’s educational qualifications, Sikh ethnicity and so-called integrity, go down on all fours in competing with others in the dynastic Congress party, in his practice of sycophancy when he is only expected to bend? It seem, nay it is obvious, that despite being publicly ridiculed six months ago, in the 27 April, 2007, Khalistan Calling, headlined, “Dr. Manmohan Singh, a Sikh, has the audacity to say publicly that the son of the mass murderer of Sikhs, the effeminate unread bachelor, Rahul Gandy, is India’s future!" Prime minister Manmohan Singh, a Sikh, continues on his sycophantish path of (> /home/khalistancalling/2007/april25.aspx <) flattering Sonia Gandy and her dim-witted, half-literate son, Rahul Gandy. Dr. Manmohan Singh while eagerly performing public kowtow on the death and birth anniversary of members of the Gandy family, (Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mrs. Indira Gandy, Rajiv Gandy, Sanjay Gandy et al.) keeps on forgetting that it was Prime minister Indira Gandhi who ordered the June 1984 attack on the Darbar Sahib and her son Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi who launched the nation-wide November 1984 pogrom in which two state-sponsored incidents thousands of innocent Sikh men, women and children were murdered.
As far as the 25 million strong Sikh nation (3 million free in the diaspora and 22 million captive in India) is concerned, this Nehru/Gandy family’s 46-years-long dynastic rule in India has only brought poverty, death and destruction to the captive Sikh nation ever since it was made captive in Indian occupied Punjab, in 1947, when Colonial Britain quit South Asia in haste and passed on the coercive instruments of state power to an evil polytheistic nexus of the crafty Brahmin and the usurious Bania castes. This condition of Sikh captivity will not last for long as the 22 million egalitarian and monotheistic Sikhs are destined to be free with help of the muscular/prosperous three million strong Sikh diaspora. Raj Karayga Khalsa!
