Washington DC: March 6, 2002 : When India's founding father, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi alias 'Mahatama' Gandhi was murdered in the Birla temple in New Delhi on January 30, 1948, by a Brahmin assassin, Nathuram Godse, who belonged to a Hindu fundamentalist organization ('grandmother' of Brahmin-fundamentalist Indian prime minister Pundit Vajpayee's Bharatia Janata party - BJP) Hindu groups immidiately circulated the rumour that the assassin was a Muslim. The false rumour was put out in the hope that a backlash bloodbath would ethnically cleanse India of the Muslim minority.
Fortunately for the beleaguered Muslim minority the then British Governor General of India, Earl Mountbatten, who had rushed to New Delhi's Birla temple, wisely scotched the ugly rumour by saying - without even checking - that the assassin was a Hindu. Lord Mountbatten in later years used to relate this story with great pride of how he saved millions of Muslims in India. This gory episode is documented in numerous books of that period published in England like Campbell's "Mission with Mountbatten".
That the Hindu-fundamentalist's modus operandi has not changed over the years is evident from similar disinformatsiya broadcast through a New Delhi-datelined report published on March 01, 2002 in the INDEPENDENT London, from its New Delhi correspondent, Nick Meo, headlined. "Muslim firebomb attack on train leaves 57 dead,"(<http://www.independent.co.uk/story.jsp?dir=1&story=212423&host=1&printable=>) who quoted Gordhan Zadaphia's, (Gujrat's Hindu-fundamentalist home minister) and Godhra lady district administrator Jayanti Ravi's dezinformatsiya that an armed Muslim mob at the Godhra railway station, in BJP-rum Gujrat state, had attacked and torched four bogies of the Sabarmati express train filled with hundreds of (trishul-armed and hyped-up) VHP - World Hindu Council - workers returning from Ayodhia causing the death of 57 Hindus including fourteen children. Some provocative story! The disinformation belies imagination and exposes the evil depths of the morally repugnant, Swastika-worshipping, Hindu-fundamentalist mind and reveals how the carnage in Gujrat was orchestrated. Incidently the mischievious report in the INDEPENDENT quoting the Godhra district administrator Jayanti Ravi failed to mention, what our reliable sources in India have since confirmed, that the Godhra railway station where the socalled 2000-strong Muslim mob is supposed to have attacked the train is guarded by a 50-man armed contingent of the GRP (Government Railway Police) and a 30-man platoon of RPF. Some mob! Some fabrication! Has anyone seen TV images, photographs or a Video of the enraged "Muslim mob" which is supposed to have torched four bogies of an express train at the well guarded Godhra railway station? Our sources report that Godhra's district administrator Ms. Jayanti Ravi exaggerated a minor stone-throwing incident by a couple of vendors at the Godhra railway station whose carts were overturned by some mischievous or thugish passengers travelling on the Sabarmati express train. District Administrator Jayanti Ravi, (an inexperienced lady of feeble mind and courage who owes her job to her personal 'connections') probably invented the story of a Muslim armed mob attack with fire-bombs to save her hide for not doing enough for the 57 Hindu victims who died when an accidental fire got out of hand in one bogie of the Express train. Being fanatical caste-conscious Hindus the VHP pilgrims on the train were carrying - in breech of railway rules - gas stoves etc., to heat their food as these fanatics will not eat food touched by lower castes or unknown individuals as they believe that they will become 'bhrisht' - polluted. If Gujrat was not under BJP 'rascal rule' this evil woman, Ms. Jayanti Ravi, a liar would be severly punished for causing the death of nearly a thousand innocent people. It seems the ignorance among the socalled commentators, journalists and 'experts', about the Swastika-worshipping Brahmin mind, which dominates the ruling BJP, leaves the monotheistic (Sikh, Christian and Muslim) minorities in India at the mercy of Hindu malice. We believe the malicious coterie of morally-repugnant 70-years olds (Vajpayee, Advani, Joshi and others of that ilk) who dominate the ruling BJP coalition in Delhi, having just lost the elections in four Indian states, (please see Khalistan Calling dated February 27, 2002, headlined, 'Recent 4-state elections a disaster for the BJP': (<http://www.khalistan-affairs.org/main/k_calling/kc02272002.htm> ) saw a 'copy cat opportunity' in the recent news of the burning of three bogies of an Egyptian train which caused the death of over three hundred passengers and shocked the world. Every Sikh's heart goes out to the unfortunate in Godhra, Ahmedabad and over two hundred other towns and villages in Gujrat where innocents are being butchered today in pogroms orchestrated by the ruling BJP so that they can build a temple on the site of the descecrated Babri mosque next month and regain popularity among the wealthy, powerful and extreme right wing elements of the Hindu community a la 1992.
For us Sikhs the blood bath and ethnic cleansing going on in the BJP-run Indian state of Gujrat (area 75,685 Sq. miles) following the accidental burning of one railway bogey of the Sabarmati express train on February 27, by an overturned stove (not four bogies and not by an armed Muslim mob) near the town of Godhra, has evoked horror as well as empathy for the Muslim victims and reminded us of the November 1984 massacres in and around Delhi in which authorities failed to act until several thousand innocent Sikhs had been murdered and their property and Gurdwaras (Sikh churches) burned in an officially orchestrated reprisal for the assassination of Indira Gandhi by two guards who happened to be Sikhs. Please see Khalistan Calling dated Nov. 03, 1999, headlined: "Why have the guilty not been punished for the Nov. 1984 anti/Sikh pogroms?: <http://www.khalistan-affairs.org/main/k_calling/kc110399.html To date, seventeen years later, not one police officer or guilty politicion or thug or official has been charged or found guilty for the 1984 anti/Sikh pogroms in which thousands of innocents were murdered which proves that there is no respect for Law and that India is neither civilized nor a democratic country and is in fact hardly a country as it has never been one country. Justice Indian style! Mr. Winston Churchill, the British statesman was so right when he contemptuously, and presciently, declared sixty years ago that, "India is as much a country as the Equator" and that independence in South Asia would mean 'rascal-rule'. Indeed!
What is happening in Gujrat state, run by the BJP, is an example of the 'rascal rule' Mr. Churchill mentioned. Since 1996, when the BJP took over the state administration it has projected Gujrat as a ‘model state’, and has thrown up many firsts in the Indian union. It became the only state where the ban on government staff joining the RSS (the fascist right wing fundamentalist party which ordered the murder of India's founding father, Gandhi, in 1948) was lifted; it is the only state in India where an official order makes it mandatory for schools to subscribe to the 'saffron' Hindu-fundamentalist mouthpiece ‘Sadhna’; it is also a state where the police have been asked officially to keep a dossier on the rich businessmen belonging to minority communities.
The morally repugnant Brahmin attitude is evident from the remarks of Indian Prime minister Pundit Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who sitting in his comfortable office in New Delhi, has had the chutzpah to claim that, "the media was presenting an exaggerated account of the situation in Gujrat", (see today's Times of India <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow.asp?art_id=2788905>), while London's prestigious INDEPENDENT newspaper in an on the spot report from Ahmedabad, by its correspondent Peter Popham, in its issue today claims that, 'Muslim villagers fleeing firebomb attack are electrocuted by murderous Hindus'. <http://news.independent.co.uk/world/asia_china/story.jsp?story=251156> It is obvious the amoral Swastika-worshipping Hindu-fundamentalist Indian prime minister Pundit Vajpayee is lieing as is the Indian Home minister L. K. Advani, who after a short visit to Gujrat yesterday gave a clean chit to the guilty BJP-run Gujrat state government which orchestrated the murder/rape/arson orgy in which nearly a thousand innocents have been mercilessly murdered so far by Hindu mobs in the state since February 27, 2002. We understand that two Gulf countries have threatened to throw out the Indian Hindu expatriates if the anti/Muslim pogroms don't stop in Gujrat. Hopefully the threat will cool the ardor of the blood-thirsty Brahmins in Delhi and Gujrat.
As generosity and the kirpan is a part of the Sikh religion's history and ethos we Sikhs have an open invitation for the weak and the hungry and our 'Guru ka Langar' (God's kitchen) is always open. The oppressed and beleaguered Muslims in Gujrat are welcome to seek refuge, protection and succor from frenzied Hindu mobs in the nearest Sikh Gurdwara. We urge our Muslim readers to pass this 'word' to the beleaguered Muslims in Gujrat and elsewhere in India. No Sikh will fail them.
